This session was presented at the March 29 coaching clinic. The demonstration group was the U15 girls from the St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club. The field session began where the U8-U12 coaching clinic session left off. Functional training was used to enable players to learn the roles and responsibilities of various positions; forwards, wide midfielders, and center midfielders.
This field session was part of a National D license coaching course delivered by ASET, and in conjunction with the Missouri Youth Soccer Association. The field session consisted of a warm-up containing blind side runs, wall passes and double passes. The session progressed with a Phase of Play coaching methodology by building out of each third of the field; defending third, middle third, attacking third.
You must be an emerging technician to view the field session.
This session focused on the movements and passes needed to get past an organized defense. Movements such as wall passes, double passes, and blind side passes were demonstrated and used throughout the session. The activities progressed in a manner that coaches could use parts or all of the session when working with their individual teams.
